Last year people took glitter to a whole new level by updating the pie-in-the-face prank with Glitter Bombs, an arts and crafts attack against douchey politicians and pundits.

Listen as we talk about what 2012 will be like by looking at the events and trends that made the headlines last year with artist Marsian DeLellis.

Great show, guys! Thanks for the shout-outs. 🙂

Yeah, I wanted to see the lighter side of the Libra tampon commercial, but when I first saw it I felt kind of put-off instinctively, and my friends (both trans women and cis women) shortly after were crying foul on it. Most people “got” that it was meant to be a drag queen and a bit of fun, but the angles they chose to play were too familiar in a painful way to the ways in which “real womanhood” gets policed, both between cis and trans women and within cis women circles (reproductive status is surprisingly important, it seems!).

I totally believe Gaga will do as you predicted. She’s done it so much already! 🙂

    RE: Gay appropriation of “Bro”.

If Jeremy Piven uses it, then you know it’s Douchey.

  3. Gabe says:

    Interesting predictions!

  4. Always one of the best shows of the year, boys.

Marsian, you’re always great on the show. Keep up the hard work.

  5. I told you she was going to do a Rock Opera!

Good trend spotting, Marc! I forgot one prediction too: I predict that there are going to be Sex Toys with Hydrogen Fuel Cells that you don’t need to change the batteries for weeks. Apple has already taken out a patent on Hydrogen Fuel Cells for laptops and since all technological advances are driven by sex, its only a matter of time before they wind up in our sex toys. In a related trend, plastic fitted bed sheets will also see a spike in retail.

  7. Andy says:

Your prediction about fleshjacks also seem to be true, they start to change the design and functions. According to an article of “Queer.de” there will be fleshjacks with a more discreet design.

Another future trend may be bio-computers which use actual slime molds for better information processing.
