Despite bringing in over $400 million dollars on its opening weekend, critics are panning the new Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, calling it a “knight-mare.” Even the hilarious “Sad Ben Affleck” is turning into an Internet meme.
Today Brian Sweeney joins us to look at all the spectacular ways Batman v Superman failed, but more importantly: who would you rather sleep with: Ben Affleck or Henry Cavill?
Comments
Actually, the hottest one was Wonder Woman. Damn my homosexuality.
AND the WW Soundtrack was amaaaazing: Dear Brian, sashay.. away.
Other than that, his comments on the movie were dead on point. Awesome critic.
Btw Fausto, they KILLED OFF Superman, what more are you asking for? lol
It was also a tribute to comics which was awesome.

I never doubted for a second that Superman is dead, and his dirt levatatin’ in his coffin is just more bullshit! LOL
Great website. Thans for sharing.Regards
no offense Fausto, but as woman, the new Ghost Busters movie looks like fucking garbage. None of the female cast they chose are remotely funny. The Black Stereotype Ghostbuster was hilariously offensive. The charm of the original Ghostbusters looks completely lost in the new Ghostbusters. Nothing but shitty jokes and lots of flashy cgi ghosts. Even if it’s not utterly terrible, I highly doubt it will be anything past being mediocre. Lets not forget it was made by Sony Pictures, the same company that gave us Pixels, so yeah, the chances of it being shitty seem pretty high. Let’s face it, there’s no imagination left in Hollywood, nothing but remakes, reboots, and super-hero movies where only a couple of them are actually decent.
Brian, thank you for the review of BvS. I am now very glad I didn’t spend my money on this movie. I can wait for it on Netflix.
I always enjoy it whenever you allow Brian on the show to nerd out, and I’m disappointed we never got a post-script on his reaction to The Force Awakens and whether he enjoyed it or not.
I absolutely loved The Force Awakens and saw it three times in the theater!
I’m angry about this movie, actually angry that they made it, angry that Ben Affleck was cast in the role. I hate the very idea of this movie. I’m angry that dumb fucks went to see it and gave these assholes money as a reward for making a terrible movie.
Ben Affleck or Henry Cavill? Is that even a question? I wouldn’t fuck Ben Affleck for money. He’s the worst Batman, ever. Henry Cavill actually would have made a better Bruce Wayne. He can play the despisable billionaire playboy perfectly. He can’t play the geeky, awkward, wholesome, Kansas-farm-boy-come-to-New-York Clark Kent. Henry Cavill isn’t wholesome, and that’s why we like him.
We love you Brian!
Thanks a lot! I love you too, Nathan!
Thanks for the analysis of RuPaul’s vulture interview. I used to hate drag until my partner and I found season 1 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. I used to resent drag shows bc they kept us from dancing when dancing was the only time I felt free enough to flirt with guys! Since then, I have come to appreciate drag for the art form that it is and have seen how drag helps queens transform. Transformistas indeed! Taking what kept them on the outside… “girly”, “feminine” and turning it into an asset. As an effeminate gay man, this turning the oppressor on its head inspires me. That’s why I love drag- it takes what I was made of fun of for into an asset. It turns the social order on its head: us boys who were picked last for kickball could say “Hey Kween” with pride.
Anyway, I don’t like to hear RuPaul speaking bad about Drag Race. It’s my touchstone, it’s my NFL, it’s the TV show where I find my heroes. But you helped me to understand why she would feel negative towards it. I miss those days when being gay was subversive. But I shouldn’t succumb to the “nostalgie de la boue.” Fausto: You are right. It is better to live in a world where all are brought into the mainstream. But, I cannot help but missing that world where knowing who Bebe was and why Tyra should never have won bought me a golden ticket to a subculture where I was understood, accepted, and loved as Bryan so eloquently put it.
Thanks for having Bryan on the show again! I love the cultural criticism he inspires. I hope you have him on more in the future (especially with Meredith Kachel; their Xmas show is my all-time favorite. I listen to it before every family get together during Christmas time).
Meredith and I will be back on the show together in a little while!
Thank you for all the kind words, Andrew!
Brian Sweeney = Awesome Nuggets.
